Arkana spent most of her life in the Jungle as a member of the wandering sisterhood known as the Galdur. Their purpose was to keep the Forest and her people healthy, often using their dance and song to keep the forest revitalised, and more applicable forms of healing for her people. Her role was akin to priestess during this time, and each member of the Galdur made an oath to the forest. Their oath was imbued into Oathstones, and their magic amplified whilst adhering to their oath within Golmore.When the Empire waged its war on the Forest around thirty years ago, Arkana made her choice to leave with some of the other members of the Galdur to help those suffering in the war. Alas, turning their backs on their oath meant their aetherial abilities began to diminish, and within three months, Arkana no longer had any way of healing people magically.She moved to Dalmasca and used her skill in dance to keep a living and put bread on the table. There she joined The Arbor Lounge and was employed by Shiden; the work didn't last long, however, as the Empire became more aggressive, and Shiden found a way to help his girls across the ocean to Thavnair for refuge.Arkana spent a few years of peace in Thavnair dancing and singing before moving further on to Gridania where she has made a permanent residence away from the threat of the Empire.In the last three years, the last of the Galdur survivors delivered Arkana her Oathstone. With the forest connection broken, she regained her ability of aether manipulation and committed herself to helping others once more. It was normal for her to live a double life of dancing for gil during the evenings and magical pursuits during the day.She previously co-owned the new Arbor Lounge with Shiden after reuniting with him in friendship, however, has since sold her share back to Shiden. He and Mydia, Arkana's mother, live and run the Lounge together whilst Arkana pursues adventure.Arkana is part of a Free Company called Aetherveil. Previously it was known as Esper Care, a medical estate that Arkana owned and ran herself for a few years. She currently leads the guild of individuals on various tasks and outings, and is currently training in various martial arts and the company griffins.

AdventurerThese days, Arkana makes her fortune on expeditions, finding unique relics and auctioneering the items, as well as serving as a sellsword from time to time. She works for Aetherveil Company in Thanalan region.
Pit FighterArkana enjoys participating in the fight pit of Ul'dah from time to time, mainly for the showmanship and (non-existent) adoring fans. Those who have watched her fight would know she is capable of putting on a show but not very capable of winning her matches.
PatronShe considers herself a patron of the arts. With a small amount of wealth at her disposal amassed from her years of work, there is an opportunity to have Arkana as a patron to artists if they seek her out. She is also fascinated by High Societies around the world.

ConjuryArkana has always had a special affinity with water magic. Conjuring water and shaping it to her whims come easily to her. Likewise, with her mastery of water magic, she has developed a method of redirecting light with a shimmering layer of water to become stealthy.
HealingAs a priestess of Golmore, Arkana was for many decades predominantly a healer, using both magical and non-magical means to aid others.
KojinWith the blessing of the deep acquired from relations with the Kojin, drowning is not something she has to worry about.
HebiDuring some months lost at sea, Arkana also came to befriend a water serpent that she named Hebi. When she visits the Ruby Sea she is often found with this serpent.
PortalsArkana can create portals between bodies of water that she has visited. She has a stationary water portal built into her home. As she has lived in Golmore for many years, transporting to the forest is an option for those wishing to take the dangerous journey.
TattoosMany pale tattoos adorn her body, notably her arms, from her time as a priestess of Golmore. These help boost her affinity with conjury and the elements. Her most recent addition is an arcanist spell to summon an aetherial crystal rapier after being kidnapped and weaponless, as an emergency spell for self-defence.
SwordplayTraining with an elezen named Tanen she learned swordplay, mainly one-handed with grappling and also trained further for duel wielding and casting spells. She has a pair of water-aspected blades gifted to her after a match at the Ul'dah fight pit which she often uses, using water, ice, and thunder to her advantage.
ChakramsBefore Arkana was reunited with her aetherial abilities, she relied on chakrams and dance to earn gil and protect herself.
Lightning LanceworkAfter acquiring a collection of soul crystals, Arkana kept one for herself to attune to. Showing an aerial warrior soaring across the skies with their mount and a lance, Arkana followed the footsteps of these memories to learn the same abilities that the sky warrior had. Arkana uses her lance with her griffin and summons lightning aether easily.
EchoShe has the basic traits of the Echo and her personal manifestation relies on other people's intense emotions and feeling them for herself. She understands other languages but struggles to speak them without study.

Nice to meet you! I am close to thirty years of age and work fully remotely.
I have a preference for adventure roleplay.
I am open to roleplaying with OCs, NPC characters, and other creative concepts not cemented into the game but aren't outright lore-breaking. Sorry, but I'm not comfortable with characters and themes that are from other games and franchises. Roleplaying the MSQ of FFXIV doesn't interest me.My writing style on discord is generally in a narrative style and I appreciate partners who write similarly. In-game, I write in a shorter tone to match the pacing of the roleplay in venues and other live scenarios where many people are involved.I enjoy roleplays that follow plots, adventures, and also scenes where characters can relax and get to know each other. I am open to most topics and themes in roleplay, however, I am not interested in any that follow the Main Story Quest of the game, and dark themes such as sexual abuse are firm boundaries that I will not cross in roleplay.
